A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE ALVIN ENDT FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

WHEREAS, Representative Alvin Endt of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, has served as a member of the House of Representatives since first being elected in 1984; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from Ocean Springs High School, Representative Endt received a bachelor's degree in education and geology from the University of Southern Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, before becoming a member of the House, Representative Endt served the people of Jackson County as an Ocean Springs City Councilman and as a Supervisor of Jackson County; and

WHEREAS, Representative Endt, Chairman of the House Fees and Salaries Committee, is a valued member of the House Management Committee, the Game and Fish Committee, the Ways and Means Committee and the Penitentiary Committee; and

WHEREAS, throughout his legislative career, Representative Endt has worked hard for the passage of an Omnibus Pay Bill and in 1997, House Bill 1032, also referred to as the Omnibus Pay Raise Bill, successfully passed the House and Senate; and

WHEREAS, Representative Endt has been an active member of his community through his involvement with the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Representative Endt has been loving supported in all his endeavors by his faithful wife, the former Betty Boyd; their children, Betsy, Rebecca, Mark and Jennifer; and grandchildren, Andrew, Georgia Kate, Jamie Lee, Houston and Luke; and

WHEREAS, Representative Endt is a highly respected and influential member of the House of Representatives and has brought much credit to himself and the House by his dedication and hard work to serve the best interests of his constituents and the people of the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and express sincere appreciation to Representative Alvin Endt for his long and distinguished service as a member of the House of Representatives and extend to him our heartiest wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Alvin Endt and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
